WHAT CONCERNS ME

God’s Word: What Concerns Me Concerns God

Psalm 138:8 NKJV

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;

Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;

Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

In life, there are moments where we feel overwhelmed by challenges, worries, or the weight of the world. Whether it's the harsh words of others, the struggles at work, or the fear of the unknown, it's easy to feel alone in our battles. But here’s  a truth that can give us peace:

What concerns me concerns God.

This very promise is rooted in understanding that God sees us, knows us, and cares deeply for every detail of our lives. No matter the size or nature of our concern, God is not indifferent. Every fear, every worry, and every burden we carry is precious to Him.

Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."

Keeping our eyes and lives focused on God, we have this promise “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” It's easy to be distracted by the storms of life, but God’s word calls us to fix our gaze on Him. When we keep our hearts set on His promises, our focus should shift from being overwhelmed by the things of life (our circumstances) to the sufficiency of God’s power and faithfulness.

Remember, this, as God told Peter,  "My grace is sufficient."

When we begin a practice (develop a habit) of taking everything to God in prayer and petition with thanksgiving, it frees us from the responsibility of working things out on our own.  It’s a reminder that, even when challenges come our way, we don’t face them alone. God is our protector and our peace.

The key to walking in the security of God’s protection is trust. Trust that He sees and knows your every concern. Trust that He is not distant, but is actively working on your behalf. Trust that He will not leave you or forsake you, no matter the circumstances.

God’s protection isn’t just about physical safety, though that’s certainly part of it. It’s about the peace and security that come from knowing we are His—covered by His love, surrounded by His grace, and held in His hands. When we trust in His care, we can rest knowing that He will keep us through every trial.

What concerns me concerns God.

 This is not just a comforting thought, but a promise all throughout the pages of the Bible; the wonderful Word of God. When we keep our eyes stayed on Him, He will protect and keep us. No matter the opposition—whether in word or deed—God is with us, and He will never leave us. As we trust in His faithfulness and sovereignty, we can walk through life with the assurance that we are secure in His care.
