The PROMISES OF GOD

The Promises of God

In Gods' word He says:

2 Corinthians 1:20
20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

When I first came across this scripture, I had to ponder on it and even ask for a better understanding because it seem like I was really missing something.  For it could not possibly mean what I think it means.

So, when I inquired that was the explanation, I got just what I thought.

Gods' promises that He made to us are facts, real, just as He stated.  How do I know this to be true? Because His word simply says:

Isaiah 55:11
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Is it that simply? Yes and Amen.

Amen...what does Amen really mean?

Definition of Amen:

Old English, from ecclesiastical Latin, from Greek amēn, from Hebrew 'āmēn ‘truth, certainty’, used adverbially as expression of agreement, and adopted in the Septuagint as a solemn expression of belief or affirmation.

"So be it", it means we agree with what is being said, spoken or done.  So, let us get into agreement with the word of God.  These are His words that we can believe in and count on all the days of our lives.  There will never be a truer word ever spoken to us or for our benefit.

The Bible is literally; basic instructions before leaving earth.  This is the manual for true righteous living.  Not one person who walks with God totally and completely walk without reading and studying the word of God.

If we decided that we are going to believe the word of God and get into agreement with Him, we must know what His word says.  We cannot receive a promise or get into agreement with God if we do not know what His promises are.

How do we find out what those promises are? We must read His word.

We get into agreement with what God wills, not what we will.  If your desires line up to what God desires, those prayers can be answered.

Why is that?  God absolutely knows what is best for his children.  He does not want to hurt us and He does not what his children to be hurt, so He put into place these instructions for living our best lives according to His will.
