THE PROMPTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The audience I write for, is for the Believer, the person who has made the decision to receive their salvation through Jesus Christ, for this particular blog I felt the need to write this disclaimer

The Holy Spirit is such a gentle Spirit,  at no time will He force Himself on you,  but at the same time He will continually nudge you....LOL.

So, I hear your question, is that not the same thing?

No, we do have what is known as free will so one is not obligate to give into the said nudge.

But the word encourages us to chose lifie....I set before you life and death, choose life.

Although the scripture you are about to read is a bit strong, its because the decision to choose free will is a death sentence in itself.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20 New International Version (NIV)

15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

So, what this means is God will ask us to do things that will better our lives and He will encourage us to do things, but He will not force us.

He is asking us to do the right things, not the wrong things, so we can have an abundant life.

When God nudges...it's like you hear things in your mind to do, but your not sure where the thought came from, so most times, you dismiss it as a random thought....but then it comes back and the more you dismiss it the stronger the prompting to get it done becomes.   When there is a great reward on the other side of that prompting the greater the nudge.   Keep in mind the reward, may not be for you, it could be for someone else.

Often times, a trail that we go through and endure the pain and suffering may actually not be for just our own benefit, it quite possible could be to have a testimony to bring someone else out of captivity.

Example,  for yourself,  you could be driving and you hear turn here or there, but you don't and you keep driving but the voice is louder and stronger....depending on your response determines the out come.

Or if its a situation you find yourself in and you are not understanding it, but you are trusting God through it and when that situation is over and the outcome is amazing because you did trust God through it, you then meet someone who is going through the exact same situation you just received your victory in, so now you are able to share your testimony and guide them the way the Holy Spirit led you.

Our trials and temptations, "our nudges" from the Holy Spirit are never wasted.  There is always a great purpose, a point to it all, if you stick in the battle, go through the wilderness you will ALWAYS get the victory, because you are never left, never forsaken.  The word has already promised us victory.

1 Corinthians 15:57 New International Version (NIV)

57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 31:6 New International Version (NIV)

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Always seek the Lord for clarification when you are feeling a nudge, what is it He needs you to do.  The more you seek Him and follow His path the faster and greater the VICTORY.
